An abandoned unterground drinking water cistern on the Zurichberg… built in 1922, and standing empty for nearly thirty years. Unique and perfectly unbalanced, heterogeneous acoustics: ideal conditions for improvising musicians!
Producing tones, hearing and feeling their vibrations and perceiving their multi-facetted transformations in the space. Waiting. Reacting – or letting the sounds die away. Even without playing a note, the room is not silent: waterdrops, the soft rustlings of the room, the occasional birdsong or the sounds of children playing above the airshafts. But the empty cistern is also home to small creatures which only close attention and a sharp ear reveal: nevertheless, they leave their traces in the title of the pieces…
